Strategic Plan (2010 - 2011)
ADA Mission Statement:
The Academy of Doctors of Audiology is dedicated to the advancement of practitioner excellence, high ethical standards, professional autonomy and sound business practices in the provision of quality audiologic care.
Primary Objective:
To be the organization that embraces and promotes audiologists owning the profession through autonomous practice models.
Sub‐Goal 1:
ADA members will have the knowledge, skills and resources necessary to achieve an ownership position in professional practices.Objectives:
- Solidify ADA’s branding/vision to market ADA and maintain its current members, while positioning ADA as the “go to” organization for autonomous audiologists.
- Maintain and increase membership through enhanced products and services.
- Develop enhanced business and clinical resources.
- 10 Webcasts completed annually
- Establishment of a certificate program
- Offer a canned “Dangerous Decibels” program for members with materials including a mannequin.
- Expand Hear for You materials
- Develop and implement communication strategies that support ADA’s mission. (ongoing)

- Develop ADA Member Resource Guide
- Encourage greater volunteerism through enhanced communication efforts at convention and on membership application.
- Create volunteer page on the ADA website
- Send volunteer interest form to all new ADA members with their welcome letter

- Achieve a member retention rate of 95 percent.
- Begin renewal cycle in September

- Develop new ADA Cookbook/practice management guide
- Provide expanded access to ADA best practices programs via real-time on-demand vehicles
- Develop relationships with other organizations to advance opportunities for members and cement ADA’s position as a leader in the profession of audiology.
- Track monthly relationship development efforts
- Expand ADA’s advocacy efforts.
- Develop advocacy toolkit for members
- Initiate relationships with key federal agencies and legislators
- Partner with state organizations to advance goals of mutual interest
- Promote ADA position paper
- Develop Supplemental ADA position paper
- Increase PAC fundraising
- Create, promote and expand mentoring opportunities for practitioner-student and peer-peer relationships.
- Launch year-round and convention mentoring programs
- Create an ADA Member Preceptor Program to provide training and clinical rotation opportunities, which meet the needs of the preceptor, student and educational institution.
- Expose audiology students to the autonomous practice of audiology through clinical rotations with ADA members who are practice owners.
- Provide information and resources regarding requirements to serve as a preceptor
- Launch Externship Exchange, an online service that links preceptors and students.
