U.S. District Court Grants IHS Motion to Dismiss ADA Lawsuit

On February 21st, the United States District Court in Detroit issued an order dismissing the lawsuit brought by ADA against IHS to prevent IHS from issuing Tinnitus Provider Certificates to people not licensed or competent to provide tinnitus diagnostic and treatment services.

View the court order and the judge’s opinion here: While ADA is disappointed with the court’s decision and disagrees with it, we remain committed to protecting audiology’s scope of practice and the public. To that end, ADA invites members to participate in a Virtual Town Hall Meeting on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.

ADA attorney, Robert Gippin, and president, Dr. Angela Morris, will discuss the court’s decision and available options. ADA members will then be provided an opportunity to consider the information and determine next steps.
