In this presentation, we will discuss how to manage verifying coverage and benefits and selection and fitting of hearing aids being paid in whole or in part by a third-party payer. We will discuss the billing and reimbursement process and how it is intertwined with the selection and fitting. We will also discuss third-party administrators and their role in the managed care arena.

About the Presenter:

Kim Cavitt, Au.D. was a clinical audiologist and preceptor at The Ohio State University and Northwestern University for the first ten years of her career. Since 2001, Dr. Cavitt has operated her own Audiology consulting firm, Audiology Resources, Inc. Audiology Resources, Inc. provides comprehensive operational, compliance and reimbursement consulting services to hearing healthcare providers. She currently serves as the Interim Chair of the Audiology Quality Consortium (AQC), Vice-President of Government Affairs for the Illinois Academy of Audiology and is a member of the State of Illinois Speech Pathology and Audiology Licensure Board. She also serves on committees through the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) and the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), and is an Adjunct Lecturer at Northwestern University. She is a past president of the ADA.
