The Joel Wernick Award

The Joel Wernick Award is presented annually in recognition of an outstanding educational contribution within the fields of audiology or hearing science. First presented in 1989, the Wernick Award is the Academy of Doctors of Audiology most prestigious professional recognition.

Joel Wernick, Ph.D., was an active supporter of the Academy from its inception in 1977 until his death in 1988. His life is a shining example of audiology excellence combined with a rich personal and professional life, peppered with good humor.

The Leo Doerfler Award

The Leo Doerfler Award was created in 2003 to recognize an audiologist who has demonstrated outstanding clinical services in the community throughout his/her career. The award honors ADA 's first President, Dr. Leo Doerfler, a practitioner who is remembered for pioneering the private practice model.

The Audiology Awareness Award
