CAOHC Professional Supervisor Workshop
The Professional Supervisor of the Audiometric Monitoring Program© (PS/A) Workshop is an intermediate-level, full-day course. It emphasizes the real-world application of audiology expertise as encountered in occupational settings.
Lectures review the current literature and practice guidelines. Instructors present employee case studies for participant problem-solving, critical thinking and small-group discussion.
Case presentations discuss PS responsibilities, guidelines for managing problem audiograms and determination of work-relatedness.
This workshop is intended for audiologists, physicians (MD, DO) and otolaryngologists who supervise and review audiometric testing from hearing loss prevention (HLP) programs.
Any hearing conservation-related professionals are also invited to participate in this course; however, are not eligible to take the certification exam.
Participants should have prior understanding of governmental regulations in and components of hearing loss prevention programs and interest, and/or experience in making work-related determinations for occupational noise-induced hearing loss.

Audiology Resources: SPECIAL ONE-DAY BOOT CAMP EVENT: Most Requested Topics in Healthcare Reform Coding, Reimbursement, Managed Care and Pricing
Audiology Resources surveyed its approximately 5000 contacts and asked: "What are the topics you would most like to learn or hear more about in 2018"? Well, we listened and created a special, one-day event solely focused on the most requested topics in healthcare reform, coding, reimbursement, managed care and pricing. This event will not talk about what "might happen" but will focus on how to assist audiologists in managing what they are currently experiencing when dealing with patients, new competition, third-party administrators and insurance.
Respondents also requested that we couple the event to a national audiology meeting and that I speak in conjunction with the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) annual convention.
As a result, Kim Cavitt, AuD and Audiology Resources will be hosting a special, focused One-Day Boot Camp on Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 8AM to 5PM at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, FL. The course will run from 8AM to 5PM. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
