ADA Endorses Dr. Deanna Frazier Gordon for Congress — A Historic Opportunity for Our Profession
Dear ADA Members,
The Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) is pleased to announce its endorsement of Deanna Frazier Gordon, Au.D., for the U.S. House of Representatives. Dr. Gordon is running for Kentucky’s Sixth Congressional District in the 2026 election! If elected, she will become the first audiologist ever to serve in Congress—an achievement that will give our profession authentic representation on Capitol Hill!
Dr. Gordon is an audiology practice owner, and a longstanding member of ADA. She is one of us, and she understands our clinical, regulatory, and business challenges, as well as the needs and concerns of our patients. Before entering public service, Dr. Gordon founded, owned, developed, and later sold the largest private audiology practice in Kentucky. In 2021, she established another private audiology practice in Richmond, Kentucky, where she continues to provide care—bringing more than 30 years of experience to her patients.
Dr. Gordon has represented Kentucky’s 81st district in the state House since 2019, where she is widely known for her work ethic and for working collaboratively to achieve results. She recently led efforts to establish model legislation for the National Council of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL) to ensure that hearing aid statutes are appropriately updated across the nation, to codify the recognition of audiologists as prescribers of prescription hearing aids.
Effective hearing and balance health care policy crosses party lines and the entire political spectrum. Having a member of Congress who deeply understands our reimbursement challenges, and the needs of independent audiology clinics will make a tangible difference when Congress considers issues like Medicare coverage for audiology services, telehealth, small business taxation, and access to audiologic care.
Electing Dr. Gordon as the first audiologist to serve in Congress will elevate our profession and help ensure that auditory and vestibular health remain part of the national conversation.

ADA’s endorsement of Dr. Gordon for U.S. Congress reflects our belief that her experience as an audiologist, a private practice owner, and an effective state legislator uniquely qualifies her to advocate for hearing and balance health care and the independent practice of audiology on a national stage. We encourage you to join us in supporting her historic campaign.
Thank you,
The ADA Board of Directors
