ADA Endorses National Guidance on Responsible Use of AI in Healthcare
The Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA) is proud to announce its endorsement of the Responsible Use of AI in Healthcare (RUAIH) guidance, developed by The Joint Commission and the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI). This guidance offers a high-level framework to ensure artificial intelligence (AI) is integrated into clinical, administrative, and operational settings with patient safety, privacy, and ethical considerations at the forefront.
By embracing this framework, ADA joins other healthcare leaders in advancing innovation while upholding strong safeguards. The RUAIH guidance emphasizes key areas such as governance, risk and bias assessments, ongoing quality monitoring, and provider training—critical steps to balance technological progress with accountability. ADA has already incorporated these practices into its updated Audiology Practice Standards, underscoring its commitment to advancing the profession while protecting patients and strengthening healthcare systems.
